Global Learning Curriculum

Argyle Primary School is proud to announce that we have recently been awarded the status of being an Global Learning Expert School.

The Global Learning Programme (GLP) is a groundbreaking new programme which helps teachers to deliver effective teaching and learning about development and global issues. The programme provides the support needed to help pupils learn about the challenges our world faces and think critically about how to deal with issues such as poverty, inequality and sustainability.

At Argyle Primary School the children are taught how to become better global citizens by thinking about:

  • ·        Human Rights across the world and exploring instances where these are being violated
  •          Sustainability across the world and how we can ensure that the planet is being looked after
  • ·        Interdependence and how different people, communities and countries can affect each other and rely on each other
  • ·        Global Citizenship and how we can be good citizens

Further information about the programme can be found here.

Our video, featured below will hopefully give an insight into our approach to Global Learning.
