Physical Education

At Argyle, we are committed to enhancing the health and fitness of every child. Alongside delivering an engaging Physical Education curriculum—where every child benefits from instruction by a specialist sports coach in at least one area of PE—we aim to provide extracurricular sports clubs to all students. We believe that diverse PE experiences positively impact children’s concentration, attitude, and academic success.

Our pupils have the opportunity to work with renowned specialists such as Bloomsbury Football, Platform Cricket, and Middlesex Cricket. Each child participates in two PE sessions per week, covering a variety of skills and sports throughout the year. To ensure a structured development of abilities, we follow the GetSet4PE scheme, which offers a clear progression of skills.

Key Stage 2 pupils receive an entire term of swimming lessons, exceeding the required minimum. Year 5 and 6 swim in the Autumn term, Year 4 in the Spring term, and Year 3 in the Summer term. As a school, we prioritise swimming as a vital life skill and ensure our pupils are well-equipped in this area.

Additionally, students can participate in after-school tournaments, competing against a variety of Camden schools, further enriching their sporting experience.
